Urgent request
- Syringes on public land are considered urgent. Please report this issue to the City by calling 1300 4 CANNING (1300 422 664). You can call this number 24-hours a day for urgent/high priority assistance. This will allow an Officer to respond with the highest priority.
Residential properties
- Residents are responsible for disposing of syringes found on the residents own premises.
- Syringes can be disposed of in the residents general waste bin, provided the needle is placed in a rigid-walled, puncture resistant plastic container with a well secured lid.
- For residents who have certified sharps containers for the disposal of needles, the certified sharps containers can be placed in their general waste bin.
Issues with neighbours
- People are sometimes unaware that their activities are causing a problem.
- The City encourages all residents and business operators to talk to their neighbours about any issues before making a complaint.
