What are pests?

Examples of common pest issues include but are not limited to:
  • ants
  • bees in verge trees, parks or public areas
  • wasps under fence capping or in playground equipment
  • termites in verge trees
  • rats and mice
  • cockroaches
  • spiders
  • pests in conservation areas - foxes, rabbits, feral cats
  • mosquitoes.

Public places

The City will investigate pests in:
  • natural areas (e.g. City managed natural bushland, wetland, riverbank and creek line areas maintained for conservation and recreation purposes)
  • clean and kept areas (e.g. City managed recreational areas such as parklands, ovals, streetscapes, accessways or footpaths)
  • Council buildings and assets.
